Maria Teresa Carvalho Guerra is a Trainee Sustainability Consultant with a strong academic foundation in sustainability and energy transition. She holds a MSc in Sustainable Cities and Communities from the EC2U Alliance – European Campus of University Cities, having studied at the University of Coimbra, University of Turku, and University of Poitiers. Her master’s thesis analysed energy transition strategies and institutional mechanisms in European universities.
During her studies, she completed a minor at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences focused on creating resilient cities, developing innovative approaches to urban challenges through multidisciplinary and holistic analysis. Her background in Geography at the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning of the University of Lisbon provided her with tools to integrate social, environmental, and spatial complexities into sustainable solutions.
Alongside her academic work, Maria Teresa has actively contributed to environmental NGOs, engaging in community-based awareness campaigns and initiatives aimed at promoting recycling and sustainable practices. She has also participated in a student-led initiative focused on sustainable engineering solutions, contributing to projects that developed and applied innovative technologies for community-focused sustainability initiatives.
